New move by the tourism sector in United Arab Emirates focuses on providing free visa for children under the age of 18 as long as they are accompanied by their parents. The new move was made as means to help increase the number of teenagers visiting the country and in turn increasing the family numbers in the city.
Tourism is one of the strongest fields in UAE which is why this is a new way to increase the number of tourists visiting the country. This rule will be enforced during the period of July 15 and September 15. This visa can be obtained through the digital app provided for parents through smartphones called “ica uae echannels”.
This was commented on by the operations manager at International Travel Services (ITS) called Anand Lakshmy by saying, “July to September are off-peak season for tourists. So, this move by the government will definitely encourage more families to visit the UAE during the summer months. The summer weather is harsh and that makes many people reluctant to travel to the UAE. But if you look at the cost factor, there is no better time to visit. The hotel rates are cheaper. So is the airfare. Adding to it, if parents do not have to pay for their children’s visa, it is an encouragement for tourists. his growth could be driven by various incentives introduced into the region.”
