China to host top defence and security forum in October

The Beijing Xiangshan Forum is themed ‘Maintaining International Order and Promoting Peace within the Asia-Pacific Region’.

China can host its prime defence and security meeting referred to as the national capital Xiangshan Forum from October 20 to 22, a Chinese military proponent said on September 26th.

Modelled on annual Singapore’s Shangri-La Dialogue, the national capital Xiangshan Forum hosts defence and security officers from around the world to debate up to date problems associated with world defence and security.

Official delegations from nearly 60 countries and 6 international organizations, together with 25 Defence Ministers and 6 Chiefs of workers, have confirmed their participation within the ninth edition of the event, Ren Guoqiang, proponent with Chinese Ministry of National Defence told a media making known in Beijing.

Themed ‘Maintaining International Order and Promoting Peace within the Asia-Pacific Region’, this year’s forum can have four comprehensive sessions and one session on the seventieth day of remembrance of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China and world peace and development, Mr Ren Guoqiang said.

During the forum, a young officers’ seminar, multiple panel discussions, and alternative seminars also will be hosted, and therefore the attendees are going to be invited to tour an exhibition on China’s international military cooperation, he said.
